Latest News - Friday November 8th

A super week to start the last half-term of 2024. Our younger children thoroughly enjoyed their visit to the Grand Theatre to watch 'Room on the Broom'. Elsewhere, the school has been a hive of activity with learning and laughter in every room. This morning, along with 2 of our wonderful year 6 pupils, I attended a Remembrance service at Gowerton Comprehensive School. It was a moving occasion and a reminder of those sacrifices made. We will be marking Remembrance day at Waunarlwydd on Monday November 11th.

Next week is 'Anti-Bullying Week' and as part of this year’s Anti-Bullying Week campaign, we are urging everyone to think about how we can ‘Choose Respect’, and how we can role model this behaviour. 'Odd Socks Day takes place on Tuesday. Odd Socks are all about fun and laughter, but more importantly they deliver a message of individuality, acceptance and tolerance, which is what being an Odd Sock is all about… because everyone is different and that should be celebrated! 'Children in Need Day' is on Friday. Children and staff are allowed to come to school in their pyjamas, dressing up costumes or spots. With Cafe Cynefin for Year 4 and 5 parents, not to mention Mr Reid's class assembly, we're in for a busy and exciting week!

Polite Reminder

We have had a few near misses with accidents caused by pupils wearing necklaces and rings to school. The health and safety of the children is paramount and for this reason, jewellery is not permitted with the exception of stud earrings. We would appreciate your support on this matter to avoid any injuries. If you would like to discuss this further, don't hesitate in making contact! Diolch!

Dates for the Diary

Remember, this is 'OUR SCHOOL' and, as always, if you have any queries, concerns or ideas, don’t hesitate in making contact!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Diolch pawb!
